Hypnosis - a short vacation for body and soul

The Greek word "hypnos" means sleep, but it is a form of therapy in trance, which is usually carried out in a particularly relaxed state of consciousness. While you are exposed to many stimuli in the normal state of consciousness, in the hypnotic trance state your attention is directed to a very specific inner positive experience, during which the external stimuli lose their meaning. The term hypnosis was first time 1843 of James Braid used, see page "History of Hypnosis".

A hypnotic trance can best be described as a feeling when you slowly wake up on Sunday mornings but don't have to get up and are allowed to just indulge in your dreams. This is fine as long as your full bladder is not being driven to the bathroom.

Another example is the feeling of jogging a long distance. The beginning is a bit exhausting. But at some point you run as if by yourself and dream to yourself. This dream ends quickly when you have to cross a busy road.
Hypnosis is a physically relaxed and emotionally fear-free state between being awake and sleeping, in which you never lose control or are defenselessly exposed to a hypnotist. In any case, you will be gently led out of this trance state. In case of doubt, even without a hypnotist.
